I started 'sudo apt-get install libasound2' and 'sudo apt-get install libasound2-dev' before. with each new update, the i386 libs needed >> for Skype are removed and Skype won't work anymore. the libasound.so.2 shows as a broken link in the /lib64 folder... ...this would appear to be one of the many uniform library errors found across the 32 / 64 bit nomenclature...
