The problem is that when I plug it in it is first recognized (at least it sees something) and then it goes away (with the corresponding sound). After a lot of different crap, i downloaded a recovery program. Simply adding the drive letter made it visible. Solved the problem in the easiest way - Many thanks.

After contacting seagate they said it was a warranty prob and i could return it. My external harddrive works on other computers, but not after the windows ten update.
