Yet I can't image it would take long for Google to prepare a fix for this. The following is the change suggested in the .reg file: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Gmail\Flags] "url"=https://mail.google.com/mail/ The change can be undone by resetting the key, as shown below. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Gmail\Flags] "url"=- Not difficult, right?
After applying your fix, it works again. Oh my god, I do think this is a really good feature but I didn't expect it affect the handy notifier... So the notifier has the setting for normal http as most people use the gmail.

Your cache administrator is webmaster. now all works fine. I tried a few things and nothing seemed to work. Alternatively, you can choose to edit the Windows Registry yourself (caution needed!) to change the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Gmail\Flags\url to become https://mail.google.com/mail/.
