I have even done some registry editting to no avail. Is there anyway to make the "hide modes this monitor can't display" box available permanently? As the thread title says, the box to untick to enable the monitor to display in resolutions that it does not support seems to be greyed out. coz if someone slide it to a higher resolution maybe problem may occur, maybe out range somethin like that. check over here

It physically disappears when you check the box in the monitor tab for hide display modes that the monitor cannot support.
I don't think I will be changing my configuration just to suit their "ideals" of a home user (either using Windows XP or 9x).
