Leave everything off for 10 minutes, yes 10 minutes.. Then, when i log in using local administrator account for the configuration purposes, through this account IE is working fine. I didn't want to piggyback off of that thread, however. Uncheking the "use Proxy server..." worked for me! He can type anything, and when he hits enter or clicks search it'll just load a Internet explorer cannot load the webpage or the equivelant page in other browsers. I ran the anti-spyware you recommended, and it found a few trojans and some tracking cookies, which I quarantined. Do you have admin rights to the computer? Now it becomes a troubleshooting procedure to eliminate possible culprits..
